001 PTFE SOLID BACKUP RING FDA

TST001SO is an AS568-001 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D Back-Up Ring with an inside diameter of 0.029 in (0.74 mm), a cross section of 0.04 in (1.02 mm), and an outside diameter of 0.109 in (2.77 mm). In service, this back-up ring installs on the low-pressure side of an o-ring to prevent extrusion into the clearance gap at elevated pressure.

The compound resists steam, oxidizing media, and strong acids and bases. PTFE (Teflon) delivers one of the lowest coefficients of friction of any solid and near-universal chemical inertness. The material carries a published service range of -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C).
