As a material, Viton® (FKM) delivers very low compression set at elevated temperature and the industry benchmark where nitrile reaches its thermal limit. Expect good resistance to engine and transmission fluids, aromatic hydrocarbons, and petroleum oils and fuels. It should not be specified for service in low-molecular-weight organic acids or ketones and esters.
