The compound resists shaft wear, elevated temperature and pressure, and process media. That behavior comes from the compound itself: Braided Inconel Wire delivers field-cuttable rings for fast, inexpensive repacking, controlled leakage that lubricates and cools the shaft. Rated for service to approximately 1200°F. It should not be specified for service in over-tightening of the gland or running dry without flush.

Typical settings include valves and agitators, centrifugal and reciprocating pumps, and mixers and rotary equipment.
