Part number S1X36 is a red Silicone 70 Shore A O-Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 36 mm (1.417 in), a cross section of 1 mm (0.039 in), and an outside diameter of 38 mm (1.5 in). An o-ring compresses into its gland to block fluid or gas migration across a joint.

As a material, Silicone is specified for an exceptionally wide service temperature range and very good compression set resistance across its range. The material holds up against weathering, dry heat, and many oxidizing chemicals. Published continuous service range is -80°F (-62.2°C) to 450°F (232.2°C).
