104 PTFE SOLID BACKUP RING FDA

The TST104SO is an AS568-104 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D Back-Up Ring built to an inside diameter of 0.112 in (2.84 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 0.318 in (8.08 mm). This back-up ring installs on the low-pressure side of an o-ring to prevent extrusion into the clearance gap at elevated pressure.

Expect good resistance to nearly all industrial chemicals, steam, and strong acids and bases. PTFE (Teflon) is specified for excellent dielectric properties and a very wide continuous service temperature range. The material carries a published service range of -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C).

Typical settings include chemical processing, food and beverage, and laboratory equipment.
