113 PTFE SOLID BACKUP RING FDA

AS568-113 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D Back-Up Ring with an inside diameter of 0.549 in (13.94 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 0.755 in (19.18 mm). This back-up ring installs on the low-pressure side of an o-ring to prevent extrusion into the clearance gap at elevated pressure.

A back-up ring bridges the extrusion gap so the primary seal holds its shape under load.

This material stands up to oxidizing media, strong acids and bases, and nearly all industrial chemicals. PTFE (Teflon) is valued for excellent dielectric properties and non-stick, non-contaminating surface characteristics. Published continuous service range is -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C). Exposure to elemental fluorine at temperature or service requiring elastic recovery will shorten service life.
