Ordered as 0285S500, this is a black Neoprene (Chloroprene) 40 Shore A O-Ring Cord Stock built to a cross section of 0.5 in (12.7 mm). The o-ring cord stock eliminates long lead times on large-diameter custom rings.

The material holds up against refrigerants and ammonia, ozone and weathering, and mild acids. That behavior comes from the compound itself: Neoprene (Chloroprene) is specified for a balanced combination of oil and weather resistance, good resilience across a moderate temperature band. It is not the right choice where strong oxidizing acids or ketones are present.
