This compression packing is supplied in Carbon Filament/TFE with a 1/2 inch square cross section, catalogued under part number 11790500-01. It is cut into rings and stacked in a stuffing box, then compressed by the gland to seal a rotating or reciprocating shaft. The catalog record notes: 1 LB. Box - Approx. 6 FT.

Carbon Filament/TFE offers non-stick, non-contaminating surface characteristics and excellent dielectric properties. The material holds up against steam, strong acids and bases, and solvents. It is not the right choice where service requiring elastic recovery or molten alkali metals are present.
