EPDM (EPR) is valued for very good flexibility at low temperature and good electrical insulating characteristics. The compound resists phosphate ester hydraulic fluids, brake fluid, and dilute acids and alkalis. It is not the right choice where mineral oil-based lubricants or aromatic hydrocarbons are present.

Typical settings include brake and phosphate ester systems, outdoor equipment, and water and steam systems.
