132 PTFE SOLID BACKUP RING FDA

The TST132SO is an AS568-132 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D Back-Up Ring with an inside diameter of 1.737 in (44.12 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 1.943 in (49.35 mm). This back-up ring allows a standard o-ring to operate at higher pressures than it could unsupported.

As a material, PTFE (Teflon) is specified for excellent dielectric properties and a very wide continuous service temperature range. This material stands up to steam, oxidizing media, and strong acids and bases. Service temperature is rated from -65°F (-53.9°C) through 500°F (260°C). It should not be specified for service in service requiring elastic recovery or molten alkali metals.

It sees regular use in aggressive-media pipelines, pharmaceutical and biotech, and semiconductor fabrication.
