This compression packing is supplied in Braided Flexible Graphite with a 1/4 inch square cross section, catalogued under part number 11710250-10. The material holds up against thermal shock, very high temperature, and fire exposure. That behavior comes from the compound itself: Braided Flexible Graphite is known for excellent thermal conductivity and fire resistance, exceptional temperature capability well beyond elastomeric materials. It should not be specified for service in highly oxidizing service above rated temperature or strong oxidizing acids.
