TST165SO is an AS568-165 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D Back-Up Ring built to an inside diameter of 6.487 in (164.77 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 6.693 in (170 mm). In service, this back-up ring allows a standard o-ring to operate at higher pressures than it could unsupported.

Expect good resistance to strong acids and bases, nearly all industrial chemicals, and oxidizing media. That behavior comes from the compound itself: PTFE (Teflon) is known for excellent dielectric properties and non-stick, non-contaminating surface characteristics. Service temperature is rated from -65°F (-53.9°C) through 500°F (260°C). Applications involving service requiring elastic recovery or molten alkali metals call for a different compound.
