202 PTFE SOLID BACKUP RING FDA

TST202SO is an AS568-202 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D Back-Up Ring measuring an inside diameter of 0.234 in (5.94 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 0.512 in (13 mm). In service, this back-up ring extends o-ring service life by supporting the seal against extrusion under high pressure.

It resists steam, nearly all industrial chemicals, and strong acids and bases. That behavior comes from the compound itself: PTFE (Teflon) delivers one of the lowest coefficients of friction of any solid and excellent dielectric properties. Rated temperature range runs from -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C) in continuous service. It is not the right choice where molten alkali metals or elemental fluorine at temperature are present.
