TST002 is an AS568-002 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D Back-Up Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 0.042 in (1.07 mm), a cross section of 0.05 in (1.27 mm), and an outside diameter of 0.142 in (3.61 mm). In service, this back-up ring bridges the extrusion gap so the primary seal holds its shape under load.

This material stands up to oxidizing media, steam, and solvents. That behavior comes from the compound itself: PTFE (Teflon) is known for one of the lowest coefficients of friction of any solid and excellent dielectric properties. Service temperature is rated from -65°F (-53.9°C) through 500°F (260°C). It is not the right choice where molten alkali metals or service requiring elastic recovery are present.
