APG stocks the TST037, an AS568-037 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D Back-Up Ring built to an inside diameter of 2.489 in (63.22 mm), a cross section of 0.07 in (1.78 mm), and an outside diameter of 2.629 in (66.78 mm). A back-up ring extends o-ring service life by supporting the seal against extrusion under high pressure.

As a material, PTFE (Teflon) delivers one of the lowest coefficients of friction of any solid and excellent dielectric properties. This material stands up to oxidizing media, steam, and strong acids and bases. Continuous operating temperature is published at -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C). Verify compatibility before use with elemental fluorine at temperature or service requiring elastic recovery.
