APG stocks the TST102, an AS568-102 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D Back-Up Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 0.049 in (1.24 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 0.255 in (6.48 mm). A back-up ring bridges the extrusion gap so the primary seal holds its shape under load.

The compound resists strong acids and bases, solvents, and oxidizing media. That behavior comes from the compound itself: PTFE (Teflon) delivers near-universal chemical inertness and a very wide continuous service temperature range. Rated temperature range runs from -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C) in continuous service. It should not be specified for service in elemental fluorine at temperature or service requiring elastic recovery.
