TST103 is an AS568-103 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D Back-Up Ring with an inside diameter of 0.081 in (2.06 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 0.287 in (7.29 mm). In service, this back-up ring extends o-ring service life by supporting the seal against extrusion under high pressure.

The material holds up against steam, nearly all industrial chemicals, and solvents. PTFE (Teflon) delivers a very wide continuous service temperature range and one of the lowest coefficients of friction of any solid. Published continuous service range is -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C). Exposure to service requiring elastic recovery or molten alkali metals will shorten service life.
