Part number TST107 is an AS568-107 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D Back-Up Ring built to an inside diameter of 0.206 in (5.23 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 0.412 in (10.46 mm). A back-up ring extends o-ring service life by supporting the seal against extrusion under high pressure.

PTFE (Teflon) is specified here for excellent dielectric properties and very wide continuous service temperature range. Expect good resistance to steam, solvents, and nearly all industrial chemicals. Continuous operating temperature is published at -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C). Applications involving elemental fluorine at temperature or molten alkali metals call for a different compound.

It sees regular use in laboratory equipment, pharmaceutical and biotech, and chemical processing.
