TST108 is an AS568-108 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D Back-Up Ring with an inside diameter of 0.237 in (6.02 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 0.443 in (11.25 mm). In service, this back-up ring extends o-ring service life by supporting the seal against extrusion under high pressure.

It resists nearly all industrial chemicals, steam, and solvents. PTFE (Teflon) is specified for a very wide continuous service temperature range and non-stick, non-contaminating surface characteristics. Published continuous service range is -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C). Applications involving molten alkali metals or elemental fluorine at temperature call for a different compound.
