2103-145 PTFE S/T BUP FDA

This back-up ring is supplied in AS568-145 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D with an inside diameter of 2.55 in (64.77 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 2.756 in (70 mm), catalogued under part number TST145. It allows a standard o-ring to operate at higher pressures than it could unsupported.

As a material, PTFE (Teflon) is widely chosen for non-stick, non-contaminating surface characteristics and a very wide continuous service temperature range. This material stands up to oxidizing media, nearly all industrial chemicals, and steam. The material carries a published service range of -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C). It is not the right choice where service requiring elastic recovery or elemental fluorine at temperature are present.
