2103-169 PTFE S/T BUP FDA

Part number TST169 is an AS568-169 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D Back-Up Ring built to an inside diameter of 7.487 in (190.17 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 7.693 in (195.4 mm). A back-up ring bridges the extrusion gap so the primary seal holds its shape under load.

PTFE (Teflon) is specified here for near-universal chemical inertness and excellent dielectric properties. The material holds up against solvents, strong acids and bases, and steam. The material carries a published service range of -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C). It is not the right choice where elemental fluorine at temperature or molten alkali metals are present.

Typical settings include chemical processing, semiconductor fabrication, and food and beverage.
