Part number TST265 is an AS568-265 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D Back-Up Ring with an inside diameter of 7.734 in (196.44 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 8.012 in (203.5 mm). A back-up ring allows a standard o-ring to operate at higher pressures than it could unsupported.

Expect good resistance to oxidizing media, strong acids and bases, and nearly all industrial chemicals. PTFE (Teflon) is known for a very wide continuous service temperature range and excellent dielectric properties. The material carries a published service range of -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C). Applications involving service requiring elastic recovery or molten alkali metals call for a different compound.
