Part number TST270 is an AS568-270 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D Back-Up Ring measuring an inside diameter of 8.984 in (228.19 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 9.262 in (235.25 mm). A back-up ring allows a standard o-ring to operate at higher pressures than it could unsupported.

PTFE (Teflon) is specified for excellent dielectric properties and a very wide continuous service temperature range. This material stands up to oxidizing media, strong acids and bases, and solvents. Service temperature is rated from -65°F (-53.9°C) through 500°F (260°C). It is not the right choice where molten alkali metals or service requiring elastic recovery are present.
