The TST314 is an AS568-314 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D Back-Up Ring with an inside diameter of 0.725 in (18.42 mm), a cross section of 0.21 in (5.33 mm), and an outside diameter of 1.145 in (29.08 mm). This back-up ring allows a standard o-ring to operate at higher pressures than it could unsupported.

PTFE (Teflon) is specified for excellent dielectric properties and one of the lowest coefficients of friction of any solid. It resists oxidizing media, steam, and nearly all industrial chemicals. Continuous operating temperature is published at -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C). Exposure to molten alkali metals or elemental fluorine at temperature will shorten service life.

Typical settings include pharmaceutical and biotech, food and beverage, and semiconductor fabrication.
