APG stocks the TST360, an AS568-360 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D Back-Up Ring measuring an inside diameter of 5.85 in (148.59 mm), a cross section of 0.21 in (5.33 mm), and an outside diameter of 6.27 in (159.26 mm). A back-up ring bridges the extrusion gap so the primary seal holds its shape under load.

The material holds up against nearly all industrial chemicals, solvents, and steam. That behavior comes from the compound itself: PTFE (Teflon) is specified for one of the lowest coefficients of friction of any solid and excellent dielectric properties. Continuous operating temperature is published at -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C). Verify compatibility before use with service requiring elastic recovery or molten alkali metals.
