The TST374 is an AS568-374 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D Back-Up Ring built to an inside diameter of 9.225 in (234.32 mm), a cross section of 0.21 in (5.33 mm), and an outside diameter of 9.645 in (244.98 mm). This back-up ring installs on the low-pressure side of an o-ring to prevent extrusion into the clearance gap at elevated pressure.

The material holds up against steam, nearly all industrial chemicals, and strong acids and bases. PTFE (Teflon) offers a very wide continuous service temperature range and excellent dielectric properties. Continuous operating temperature is published at -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C). It should not be specified for service in service requiring elastic recovery or elemental fluorine at temperature.

It sees regular use in semiconductor fabrication, chemical processing, and food and beverage.
