The TST458 is an AS568-458 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D Back-Up Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 14.475 in (367.67 mm), a cross section of 0.275 in (6.99 mm), and an outside diameter of 15.025 in (381.64 mm). This back-up ring extends o-ring service life by supporting the seal against extrusion under high pressure.

This material stands up to solvents, nearly all industrial chemicals, and oxidizing media. PTFE (Teflon) is known for excellent dielectric properties and a very wide continuous service temperature range. Published continuous service range is -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C).
