Ordered as TST460, this is an AS568-460 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D Back-Up Ring built to an inside diameter of 15.475 in (393.07 mm), a cross section of 0.275 in (6.99 mm), and an outside diameter of 16.025 in (407.04 mm). The back-up ring extends o-ring service life by supporting the seal against extrusion under high pressure.

PTFE (Teflon) is specified here for excellent dielectric properties and very wide continuous service temperature range. Expect good resistance to solvents, nearly all industrial chemicals, and steam. Published continuous service range is -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C).

It sees regular use in laboratory equipment, semiconductor fabrication, and chemical processing.
