AS568-467 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D Back-Up Ring with an inside diameter of 18.955 in (481.46 mm), a cross section of 0.275 in (6.99 mm), and an outside diameter of 19.505 in (495.43 mm). This back-up ring installs on the low-pressure side of an o-ring to prevent extrusion into the clearance gap at elevated pressure.

Ordered as TST467, this is an AS568-467 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D Back-Up Ring built to an inside diameter of 18.955 in (481.46 mm), a cross section of 0.275 in (6.99 mm), and an outside diameter of 19.505 in (495.43 mm). The back-up ring allows a standard o-ring to operate at higher pressures than it could unsupported.

Expect good resistance to nearly all industrial chemicals, strong acids and bases, and steam. That behavior comes from the compound itself: PTFE (Teflon) offers one of the lowest coefficients of friction of any solid and near-universal chemical inertness. The material carries a published service range of -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C). Exposure to elemental fluorine at temperature or molten alkali metals will shorten service life.
