TST471 is an AS568-471 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D Back-Up Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 21.955 in (557.66 mm), a cross section of 0.275 in (6.99 mm), and an outside diameter of 22.505 in (571.63 mm). In service, this back-up ring bridges the extrusion gap so the primary seal holds its shape under load.

PTFE (Teflon) is known for one of the lowest coefficients of friction of any solid and near-universal chemical inertness. The compound resists solvents, nearly all industrial chemicals, and steam. Published continuous service range is -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C).
