TSP463 is an AS568-463 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D Back-Up Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 16.955 in (430.66 mm), a cross section of 0.275 in (6.99 mm), and an outside diameter of 17.505 in (444.63 mm). In service, this back-up ring extends o-ring service life by supporting the seal against extrusion under high pressure.

This material stands up to strong acids and bases, solvents, and oxidizing media. PTFE (Teflon) is specified for excellent dielectric properties and non-stick, non-contaminating surface characteristics. Continuous operating temperature is published at -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C). Applications involving service requiring elastic recovery or molten alkali metals call for a different compound.
