TST220SO is an AS568-220 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D Back-Up Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 1.359 in (34.52 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 1.637 in (41.58 mm). In service, this back-up ring allows a standard o-ring to operate at higher pressures than it could unsupported.

The material holds up against steam, oxidizing media, and nearly all industrial chemicals. PTFE (Teflon) is valued for non-stick, non-contaminating surface characteristics and near-universal chemical inertness. Published continuous service range is -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C). It is not the right choice where elemental fluorine at temperature or service requiring elastic recovery are present.

Typical settings include food and beverage, laboratory equipment, and pharmaceutical and biotech.
