The material holds up against many acids, petroleum oils and fuels, and aggressive chemicals. That behavior comes from the compound itself: Viton® (FKM) is widely chosen for the industry benchmark where nitrile reaches its thermal limit, excellent resistance to compression set and permeation. It is not the right choice where ketones and esters or low-molecular-weight organic acids are present.
