APG stocks the MOS-028-040-007-SC, a Buna-N (Nitrile) Single Case Oil Seal supplied with a 028 inch inside diameter, a 040 inch outside diameter, and a height of 007 inch. An oil seal retains lubricant inside a housing while excluding dirt, water and contamination from the bearing cavity. The catalog record notes: Rubber Covered OD, Single Lip W/ Spring.

It resists hydraulic fluids, greases and lubricants, and many alcohols. Buna-N (Nitrile) is specified for an economical choice for high-volume maintenance programs, strong abrasion and tear resistance. It should not be specified for service in ozone and direct sunlight or automotive brake fluid.
