310 PTFE SOLID BACKUP RING FDA

TST310SO is an AS568-310 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D Back-Up Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 0.475 in (12.07 mm), a cross section of 0.21 in (5.33 mm), and an outside diameter of 0.895 in (22.73 mm). In service, this back-up ring extends o-ring service life by supporting the seal against extrusion under high pressure.

As a material, PTFE (Teflon) is known for near-universal chemical inertness and one of the lowest coefficients of friction of any solid. It resists nearly all industrial chemicals, strong acids and bases, and steam. Rated temperature range runs from -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C) in continuous service. It should not be specified for service in service requiring elastic recovery or elemental fluorine at temperature.

Typical settings include semiconductor fabrication, laboratory equipment, and food and beverage.
