As a material, Aflas (TFE/P) is known for strong resistance to rapid gas decompression and excellent electrical insulating properties. It resists hot water, strong bases, and sour gas and hydrogen sulfide. It is not the right choice where some chlorinated solvents or low-temperature dynamic service are present.

It sees regular use in geothermal equipment, chemical processing, and downhole tooling.
