314 PTFE SOLID BACKUP RING FDA

This back-up ring is supplied in AS568-314 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D built to an inside diameter of 0.725 in (18.42 mm), a cross section of 0.21 in (5.33 mm), and an outside diameter of 1.145 in (29.08 mm), catalogued under part number TST314SO. It allows a standard o-ring to operate at higher pressures than it could unsupported.

PTFE (Teflon) is known for a very wide continuous service temperature range and excellent dielectric properties. Expect good resistance to nearly all industrial chemicals, solvents, and oxidizing media. Published continuous service range is -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C). Exposure to molten alkali metals or elemental fluorine at temperature will shorten service life.

Typical settings include pharmaceutical and biotech, aggressive-media pipelines, and food and beverage.
