320 PTFE SOLID BACKUP RING FDA

The TST320SO is an AS568-320 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D Back-Up Ring built to an inside diameter of 1.1 in (27.94 mm), a cross section of 0.21 in (5.33 mm), and an outside diameter of 1.52 in (38.61 mm). This back-up ring allows a standard o-ring to operate at higher pressures than it could unsupported.

As a material, PTFE (Teflon) offers a very wide continuous service temperature range and one of the lowest coefficients of friction of any solid. This material stands up to steam, nearly all industrial chemicals, and oxidizing media. Continuous operating temperature is published at -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C). Exposure to elemental fluorine at temperature or service requiring elastic recovery will shorten service life.

Typical settings include laboratory equipment, aggressive-media pipelines, and pharmaceutical and biotech.
