326 PTFE SOLID BACKUP RING FDA

The TST326SO is an AS568-326 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D Back-Up Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 1.6 in (40.64 mm), a cross section of 0.21 in (5.33 mm), and an outside diameter of 2.02 in (51.31 mm). This back-up ring allows a standard o-ring to operate at higher pressures than it could unsupported.

PTFE (Teflon) is specified here for one of the lowest coefficients of friction of any solid and very wide continuous service temperature range. Expect good resistance to strong acids and bases, nearly all industrial chemicals, and oxidizing media. Rated temperature range runs from -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C) in continuous service. It should not be specified for service in molten alkali metals or service requiring elastic recovery.
