332 PTFE SOLID BACKUP RING FDA

This back-up ring is supplied in AS568-332 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D built to an inside diameter of 2.35 in (59.69 mm), a cross section of 0.21 in (5.33 mm), and an outside diameter of 2.77 in (70.36 mm), catalogued under part number TST332SO. It allows a standard o-ring to operate at higher pressures than it could unsupported.

The material holds up against steam, strong acids and bases, and oxidizing media. PTFE (Teflon) is specified for a very wide continuous service temperature range and non-stick, non-contaminating surface characteristics. Continuous operating temperature is published at -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C). Exposure to elemental fluorine at temperature or service requiring elastic recovery will shorten service life.
