333 PTFE SOLID BACKUP RING FDA

This back-up ring is supplied in AS568-333 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D built to an inside diameter of 2.475 in (62.87 mm), a cross section of 0.21 in (5.33 mm), and an outside diameter of 2.895 in (73.53 mm), catalogued under part number TST333SO. It bridges the extrusion gap so the primary seal holds its shape under load.

PTFE (Teflon) is specified for a very wide continuous service temperature range and excellent dielectric properties. Expect good resistance to solvents, oxidizing media, and steam. Rated temperature range runs from -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C) in continuous service. It should not be specified for service in molten alkali metals or service requiring elastic recovery.

It sees regular use in aggressive-media pipelines, pharmaceutical and biotech, and laboratory equipment.
