376 PTFE SOLID BACKUP RING FDA

Ordered as TST376SO, this is an AS568-376 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D Back-Up Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 9.725 in (247.02 mm), a cross section of 0.21 in (5.33 mm), and an outside diameter of 10.145 in (257.68 mm). The back-up ring allows a standard o-ring to operate at higher pressures than it could unsupported.

The material holds up against strong acids and bases, nearly all industrial chemicals, and oxidizing media. PTFE (Teflon) is specified for excellent dielectric properties and near-universal chemical inertness. Service temperature is rated from -65°F (-53.9°C) through 500°F (260°C). Exposure to service requiring elastic recovery or elemental fluorine at temperature will shorten service life.
