Braided Flexible Graphite is widely chosen for conformability that seals imperfect flange faces, excellent thermal conductivity and fire resistance. It resists most chemicals across the pH range, fire exposure, and thermal shock. It should not be specified for service in strong oxidizing acids or highly oxidizing service above rated temperature.
