3/8" TALLOW LUBRICATED FLAX PACKING

Ordered as 14600375-10, this is a Tallow Lubricated Flax Compression Packing measuring a 3/8 inch square cross section. The compression packing is cut into rings and stacked in a stuffing box, then compressed by the gland to seal a rotating or reciprocating shaft. Source specification: 10 LB. Box - Approx. 143 FT.

The compound resists process media, elevated temperature and pressure, and shaft wear. That behavior comes from the compound itself: Tallow Lubricated Flax is specified for controlled leakage that lubricates and cools the shaft, a braided construction that conforms to the stuffing box. Applications involving running dry without flush or over-tightening of the gland call for a different compound.
