As a material, Carbon Fiber with Graphite Packing offers near-zero creep relaxation under load and no aging, hardening or embrittlement over time. Expect good resistance to very high temperature, most chemicals across the pH range, and thermal shock. It should not be specified for service in highly oxidizing service above rated temperature or strong oxidizing acids.

Typical settings include exhaust and flue gas, refining, and high-temperature process piping.
