The H4X400 is a black Buna-N (Nitrile) 70 Shore A O-Ring built to an inside diameter of 400 mm (15.748 in), a cross section of 4 mm (0.157 in), and an outside diameter of 408 mm (16.06 in). This o-ring provides a reliable static or dynamic seal by deforming into its gland under assembly load.

Buna-N (Nitrile) is specified here for reliable performance in both static and dynamic service, most widely specified general-purpose sealing elastomer. The compound resists greases and lubricants, hydraulic fluids, and many alcohols. Continuous operating temperature is published at -40°F (-40°C) to 250°F (121.1°C).
