This quad-ring is supplied in AS568-104 black Buna-N (Nitrile) 70 Shore A quad profile supplied with an inside diameter of 0.112 in (2.84 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 0.318 in (8.08 mm), catalogued under part number HQ4104. It uses a four-lobed profile to create two sealing surfaces per side, reducing the squeeze needed to seal.

The material holds up against many alcohols, hydraulic fluids, and propane and butane. Buna-N (Nitrile) delivers the most widely specified general-purpose sealing elastomer, strong abrasion and tear resistance. Published continuous service range is -40°F (-40°C) to 250°F (121.1°C).
