433 PTFE SOLID BACKUP RING FDA

TST433SO is an AS568-433 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D Back-Up Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 5.475 in (139.07 mm), a cross section of 0.275 in (6.99 mm), and an outside diameter of 6.025 in (153.04 mm). In service, this back-up ring bridges the extrusion gap so the primary seal holds its shape under load.

PTFE (Teflon) delivers one of the lowest coefficients of friction of any solid and excellent dielectric properties. The compound resists solvents, nearly all industrial chemicals, and steam. Service temperature is rated from -65°F (-53.9°C) through 500°F (260°C). It is not the right choice where elemental fluorine at temperature or service requiring elastic recovery are present.

It sees regular use in semiconductor fabrication, pharmaceutical and biotech, and food and beverage.
