Ordered as 4MPL9, this is a Plain Gauge Glass. The gauge glass seats in a gauge frame to give a protected, direct view of process level.

It resists thermal shock, internal pressure, and chemical attack from water and steam. Borosilicate gauge glass is widely chosen for borosilicate construction for thermal shock resistance, precision-formed bore and wall thickness. Exposure to service beyond the rated pressure and temperature or mechanical impact will shorten service life.
