0286MD500 is a red Silicone 70 Shore A O-Ring Cord Stock built to a cross section of 0.5 in (12.7 mm). The compound resists extreme heat and cold, many oxidizing chemicals, and weathering. That behavior comes from the compound itself: Silicone is valued for excellent electrical insulating properties, physiological inertness and low toxicity.
